The popular Metal Gear Solid 4 game gets loaded on with appreciations and adds up a star to its shoulder. Konami Digital Entertainment has announced with pride that it’s newly-released Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PlayStation 3 has been adored by gamers so much that they have managed to sell more than one million units within the first week.
To meet with the exceptional demands, Konami had to ship over one million copies of the game to retailers across Europe. The game features itself in the number one position on the sales charts. Metal Gear Solid 4 portrays the ageing hero, Snake who is called on his one last mission to halt the plans of his long-term nemesis Liquid Snake.
“The Metal Gear Solid series has again proved its huge potential, and we are delighted with the fantastic response the game has enjoyed at retail,” commented Martin Schneider, Sales and Marketing Director Germany for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “MGS4 is nothing short of a masterpiece – an epic conclusion to the Solid Snake story. Apart from topping the sales charts across Europe, Konami has also confirmed that their limited edition MGS4 sets will also include ‘Making Of’ Blu-Ray, soundtrack CD and ‘Old Snake’ mannequin. 25000 of these sets were made available across Europe and the gaming world was surprised that almost all of them have already been grabbed by the Metal Gear Solid game fans.
