Guitar Hero III and Call of Duty 4

Robert Kotick is the chairman and chief executive officer at Activision, Inc. He commented, “For the first time in our history, we were the number one U.S. publisher for the calendar year. Activision had a record breaking year as they saw their market share for the year go up to 17.7 percent. It is a 7.2 percent increase over the same period last year. Also, the NPD data shows that Guitar Hero was the top selling franchise in the U.S. for the full calendar year and GHII was the top title for all platforms in both units and dollars.

As for their other successful game in 2007, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the third best selling game in dollars across all platforms. In fact, the game is also being released for the Mac platform sometime later this year. Activision sure is laughing its way to the bank.
