One of the biggest games of the year is GTA IV. Even before the game was released for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, analysts were backing the game to break records. In fact, Grand Theft Auto IV sold 2.85 million copies in the first five days in the United States.

Now GameSpot is reporting that Take-Two has revealed that they have sold 10 million copies of GTA IV at retailers all over the world, as of August 16, 2008. The game had crossed the 8.5 million mark earlier this year in late May. That means, it sold one and a half million copies in two and a half months.
That’s not all! Take-Two also revealed that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars would be out in the first quarter of fiscal 2009, which means, it could be launched anytime in between November 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009. The game is being developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
