Microsoft and Sony have been battling it out to gain a strong foothold in the online console gaming sphere. Many will argue that Microsoft has an upper hand with the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live but purists say that Sony is more open with the PS3 and PSN. Now Epic Games has pointed out that Microsoft is winning the online battle.
Dr Michael Capps is the president of Epic Games. He spoke with gaming news website GamesIndustry.biz and told them, “If you hop right into the game you sort of miss something. And the way they are expanding the Live presence, you know, they are leading right now, they are winning. And the way you continue to do that is to keep adding cool stuff that everybody wants. Netflix is a great example, making me watch my movies on my Xbox!”
According to Capps, Microsoft needs to work more on the business model of the Xbox Live Arcade. Dr Michael Capps then spoke about Chair Entertainment, a company they acquired a few weeks ago. It is well-known for making Xbox Live Arcade games and their game, Undertow, was well received by everyone.
