Alone in the Dark Launch Delayed by Atari

From the time the first game was released in 1992, the Alone in the Dark series has entertained and scared the living hell of millions of gamers. Fans of the series were eagerly waiting for the fifth game in the series, which was also named Alone in the Dark. However, it has emerged that Alone in the Dark has been delayed.

Videogames news website Eurogamer.net spoke with Atari, who told them that they have pushed back the release date of Alone in the Dark from May to June. They gave a reason what most gaming companies usually give when their product is delayed. Atari mentioned that an extra month will give them more time to polish the game as well as remove bugs so that they can give gamers a great gaming experience.

Alone in the Dark is being developed by Eden. They are working on the PC, Xbox 360 as well as the PS3 version of the game. A few months ago, it was revealed that Alone in the Dark will also be developed for the PS2 and the Nintendo Wii. Developers Hydravision would be working on it. The game is expected to be out in Europe on June 20, 2008 while gamers in North America will get it four days later. These release dates are for the PS2, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC versions of Alone in the Dark. The PS3 version is yet to follow.
