Now Michael Pachter, an analyst from Wedbush Morgan Securities has backed the video game industry to go on and break a lot of records this year. He spoke with GamesIndustry.Biz and explained, “The industry will crush all records. Hardware should be up 15 per cent over last year, and software around the same. I think the Nintendo DS will sell the most units, followed by the Wii.”

Pachter also spoke about the software sales and feels that Electronic Arts will emerge as the leader with respect to software sales. As with regards to the best game, the analyst has backed Guitar Hero to be the top most game, but does indicate that Halo 3 too could be on the top as it was released way back in September 2007.
