Clover Studio Revived

SeedsClover Studios, who were one of the best developers in the last generation, was shut down by Capcom a couple of months ago. Well the studio has now re-surfaced according to numerous news reports.

The studio responsible for the visually stunning Viewtiful Joe series and Okami, have now been renamed “Seeds Studios”. In their dev-interview with revered Japanese magazine Famitsu, they revealed a trickle of information on a bunch of new games that the newly formed studio was working on. Word is they have also gone multi-platform like the rest of the Capcom family and are putting their creative grey matter to test on the newest kids on the block, namely the PS3 and the 360.

That’s all interesting but here’s a share of real bad news for all those ‘Viewtiful’ people out there. The studio is no longer going to support games on the PS2.The way I look at it, the studio’s first title is probably going to be for the ultra popular Wii, and is going to be an enhanced port of the poor selling Okami on the PS2.

I always wonder what entices people to pick up copies a million copies of the God awful Enter the Matrix, but not even glance at this great game, considered by almost every gaming editor, the closest Zelda could have come onto the platform.
