The classic Dragon’s Lair film cum interactive game was released some time ago on the hi-definition Blu-ray Disc. However, this has not deterred creators Don Bluth, Rick Dyer and Gary Goldman from making a full-length feature film on the interactive game.
In an interview to IGN, they confirmed that a Dragon’s Lair feature film is still in the works. Gary Goldman said, “We’ve had a finished script for over three years now and we’ve had some very positive meetings with the studios. It shouldn’t be done as a CG movie, it should be done as traditional animation like the original game. But traditional animation is in a sort of limbo.”
However, the script of this movie is a prequel to the original one. Goldman prayers to make the film in a traditional animation format may have been answered. There are reports that Disney is resurrecting their traditional animation division, but the only thing is that there are too many CGI projects in the works.
