Titanfall gets a release date, super-expensive collector’s edition announced

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall has managed to impress many in whatever time they’ve managed to spend in it at game shows, and naturally, it’s now one of the most anticipated next-gen titles. Publisher EA has finally come out with the release date details for this first-person shooter. The game is set to be launched for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 as well as PC on March 11, 2014 in North America and on March 14, 2014 in Europe.

It will start retailing on these dates in the form of a standard edition as well as a Collector’s Edition which will have its price set a whopping 249.99 USD (approx. Rs 15,400). EA is trying to justify this cost by infusing this package with an exclusive collectible 18-inch hand-crafted Atlas titan statue. This figure will feature a diorama and battery-powered LED lighting as well. Moreover, the Collector’s Edition will also kick in a full-size art book containing over 190 pages of rare concept art.

Apart from that, an exclusive full-size schematic poster of the Atlas titan will even be included in it. This edition of Titanfall can be pre-ordered now through major retailers. Set in a war-ravaged world of the near future, this game features parkour-style wall running, big double jumps and the ability to hijack titans – huge mech-style walkers equipped with unique powers. Titanfall is essentially an online multiplayer game which carries with it elements usually associated with single-player titles.

Like we said, EA has marked down the Titanfall release date for March 11, 2014 (North America) and March 14, 2014 (Europe).
