Battlefield 4 won’t show off its Battlescreen trait on PS3 and Xbox 360

We knew that a service called Battlescreen is to be incorporated into the Battlelog of the upcoming Battlefield 4, but what we’ve just learnt is that it will be exclusive to the PS4, the Xbox One and PC, and won’t provide support to the game’s PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. This new feature is aimed at providing second screen experiences to those indulging in Battlefield 4, and it will deliver players a current, live map of their game on a tablet, smartphone or PC.

While speaking to Engadget about the Battlescreen trait, Jesper Nielsen, who’s the Assistant Producer for Battlelog revealed that the free social platform for Battlefield 4 is powered by the web which invites a ”˜lot of implications.’ He also went to convey that there are a number of different things one can do faster instead of building stuff in native code.

The new Battlelog for Battlefield 4 is all set to bring in fresh features like regional leaderboards, the ability to build loadouts on a secondary screen before starting the game or while gamers wait between deaths and also the capability to let players change servers mid-game. These of course, will be accompanied by the standard stats readings that we’ve already seen in the previous game.

Battlefield 4 was unveiled earlier this year, and is all set to be released on October 29. Under development from DICE, it will see major new additions to its technical as well as gameplay aspects. While its PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions will be launched on the aforementioned date, its next-gen editions will be released later on.
