Going by the literal sense of the term Accelerate, the latest update for Tribes: Ascend supposedly expedites the process of unlocking weapon upgrades and earning fresh items. Hi-Rez Studios will be rolling out this download sometime this week, and the developer has also revealed a new feature called Tribes Paperkraft which provides gamers with printable paper folding patterns that can be made to look like Blood Eagle and Diamond Sword troopers characters from the title.
The indie studio claims the new Accelerate update ‘dramatically’ speeds up the XP process. This way, gamers will automatically be able to pick up more weapon upgrades as well as receive new items. Prior to this update, players were required to spend their XP points so as to unlock weapon upgrades. But with the new system, using a gun in-game will automatically increase its progress bar, prompting players to make more use of the weapon they wish to upgrade.
This new system will also be applicable on perks, packs, belts and armor items. Moreover, each class has been conferred with new weapons through this update. A total of twenty seven gun variants will be made available along with two new maps named Capture and Hold. Needless to say, all these additions would require a number of balance adjustments which have also been taken care of by Hi-Rez.
The Accelerate update for Tribes: Ascend will be launched this week. The free-to-play online multiplayer first-person shooter was released in April this year, and can be accessed now via its official site.
