Atomic Games’ Breach goes Gold, releases on Xbox 360 and PC next week

Breach is a first person multiplayer shooter by Atomic Games that was planned to be launched earlier in the summer of 2010. After being pushed back further from its initial release date of June last year, Breach is announced by its developer to have gone gold for Xbox 360 and Windows PC platforms. The game will arrive on both the platforms worldwide next week on January 26, 2011.

Reportedly, Atomic Games creates simulations for US military and intelligence agencies and is said to be a pioneer in military action games. The Windows PC iteration of Breach features support for enhanced particle effects, larger explosions among other intricacies through Nvidia’s PhysX technology. A superior performance incorporated Hardcore Mode is also included in the game for players to experience the training that operatives go through. A dedicated support along with remote administration has also been integrated in Breach for Windows PC gamers.

“While work on Breach is actually done, we did miss our small window with Microsoft to get it up on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 in late June as we had planned. Luckily there were features we had been thinking of adding to the title, and now we have the opportunity to do just that. Unlike with Six Days in Fallujah, which was delayed indefinitely when Konami pulled out, we are publishing Breach ourselves, and it will be out in January,” elaborated Peter Tamte, President of Atomic Games in a previous announcement.

“I’ve always said, we don’t make simulations for the public and we don’t make games for the government. However, we have come to realize there is a growing segment of the gaming population that wants to test these simulation systems out for themselves, which is why we’re adding features, like a Hardcore mode, to Breach,” he added.

Breach is said to be ‘unlike any other game’ with the first-time usage of accurate and enormous destruction that change the perspective on multiplayer combat. Moreover, players will be able to benefit from the advanced cover system which enables them to take cover even when their surroundings are being destroyed. Infused with great physicality and real-world tactics which were apparently never possible earlier, Breach is set to deliver an active cover system and genuine destruction-facing arenas for an authentic in-war experience.
