Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Multiplayer DLC First Strike hits Xbox Live

Unleashing a bountiful of sweltering action set across the Cold War era, Call of Duty: Black Ops stormed retail stores and digital outlets earlier last year, only to make history in the world of gaming. Now, the first-person shooter is being updated with its first much-awaited multiplayer downloadable content, First Strike.

Call Duty First Strike

As reported by us previously, First Strike augments the game with five new exhilarating maps depicting environments from all over the world. These are Kowloon, Berlin Wall, Stadium, Discovery as well as the all-new Zombie level, Ascension. While ‘Berlin Wall’ illustrates the iconic barrier and allows gamers to experience both sides of Cold War Berlin, ‘Discovery’ portrays an abandoned German outpost along the coast of Antarctica.

“Our fans mean everything to us,” commented Mark Lamia, Studio Head, Treyarch, “so we are thrilled to be able to provide the Black Ops community with exciting new gameplay that will extend their multiplayer and Zombies experiences. The team has given it their all, as we crafted the maps in ‘First Strike’ while taking into account our community to make sure that this content delivers compelling and unique experiences that will appeal to all different play styles. ”

‘Stadium’ allows for an adrenaline-pumping, close-quarter combat across a sports complex, whereas ‘Kowloon’ explores the stacked levels of lofty-buildings and atop the roofs of Kowloon City, Hong Kong. A brand-new Zombies mode is also featured in First Strike. Touted to be a much-anticipated mode all over, players can test their bravado against hoards of ferocious zombie monkeys or flesh-tearing Soviet Zombies among others in a devious Cold War era cosmodrome of the map ‘Ascension’.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops – First Strike DLC can now be availed from Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 at a price of 1,200 Microsoft Points.
