Call of Duty Map Packs Cross the 20 Million Units Mark

Call of Duty first hit the PC terrain but later extended to gaming consoles as well as handhelds. Now Activision Blizzard reveals that life-to-date map packs fashioned for the acclaimed Call of Duty franchise have sailed through the 20 million units mark. As the NPD Group, Charttrack and GfK disclose, the first-person action franchise still holds the acme position in Europe and U.S.

The Call of Duty franchise offers players captivating online multiplayer experiences as well as loads of downloadable content pieces. Back in October last year, COD: World at War Map Packs were offered at 50 percent off while in December a War Map Pack bundle was made available to fans of the franchise.

The recent map pack dubbed as the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack made its way onto the Xbox Live network on June 3, 2010. PS3 as well as PC owners could acquire the pack on July 6 and 7, 2010 respectively.
