BioShock 2 Name Not Changed, Sea of Dreams Reinstated

Just a little while ago we had posted about the new iteration of BioShock in which we reported that the game’s name was being changed from BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams to, more plainly, BioShock 2. Now, 2K Games tells Eurogamer that this bit of information is not true and the game will go ahead with the name BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams.

The news is that players will be able to play as a Big Daddy in the game which is set some seven years or so after the initial BioShock title. Eurogamer is apparently forbidden from releasing certain information about the game they acquired on a visit to 2K Marin, but they do say that players will be embodying “the very first prototype (of Big Daddy), which has somehow gained the ability to use ADAM and associated plasmid powers.”

The post goes on, “As a Big Daddy, you’ll stomp around new areas of Rapture choosing either to harvest or protect Little Sisters, a new stock of girls kidnapped from coastal towns by wicked arch-villain the Big Sister.”

BioShock 2 is set to release later in the year and features multiplayer, a feature missing in the first installment of the game. Sea of Dreams will be developed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms.
