For Star Wars fans, 2008 was a great year as BioWare and LucasArts teamed up to unveiled a massively multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic. But what about fans of the sci-fi series who like to play good old shooter games? They surely were expecting something related to the Battlefront series.
Murmurs about Star Wars Battlefront III have been going on quite some time. Now images, apparently believed to be concept art from Star Wars Battlefront III, have been leaked on the internet. The images were leaked by an ex-employee of Free Radical, the British studio which went into administration a few days back.
The images apparently show Star Wars Battlefront III artwork that consists of Hans Solo and Emperor Palpatine as well as Jawas and Kaminoans, some of the different alien species. There were speculations that Star Wars Battlefront III was now being developed by Rebellion Development, another UK-based studio. But there is no confirmation about that.
Let’s hope that Star Wars Battlefront III is on track and if Rebellion Development is indeed developing it, it would be nice as they have previously worked on a Star Wars game. Rebellion Development has earlier worked on Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, which was released for the PSP last year.
