GoldenEye XBLA Locked in No Man’s Land: Rare

GoldenEye Earlier this year in January, we had reported that monetary tiff between Nintendo and Microsoft canned GoldenEye for the Xbox Live Arcade. Many Xbox 360 gamers still are hopeful that the shooter will come to the online service. Now Nick Burton from Rare has said that the GoldenEye XBLA is locked into no man’s land.

Nick Burton is the senior software engineer at Rare. At the Develop conference in Brighton in the United Kingdom, he told VideoGamer.com about GoldenEye XBLA, “The ball’s not in anybody at Rare’s court really. It is squarely in the license holders’ courts. It’s a shame. It is kind of locked in this no man’s land. There is nothing on Live Arcade, there is nothing on Wii.”

Burton had earlier explained that there are umpteen licensees as there are guys that own the license to the gaming rights and there are guys that have the license to Bond as an IP. Also, the Rare engineer mentioned that he wished that the GoldenEye XBLA differences got sorted out.
