Shooter games are by far one of the most popular titles around and Electronic Arts has a gift of making cool shooter games. Now GameSpot is reporting that EA is making a new first person shooter game and there are speculations that it will be a Command & Conquer spin-off.
The source of the rumor is a job posting on the official EA website for a sound designer. According to GameSpot, the posting reads:
- “Does the idea of contributing your specialized knowledge in sound design to the next-generation gaming platform for EAs widely recognized leading sci-fi franchise get you pumped. EA has an exciting opportunity for a sound designer who will work closely with the audio director on creating sound effects, dialog, and music for a next-generation first person shooter game.”
However, when we checked, we couldn’t find the first person shooter reference in the posting. But it could be that EA pulled it of or rephrased it. Anyway, it is still not confirmed whether the FPS will be based on C&C or another EA IP. It could also be that EA could come up with a new IP altogether.
EA had earlier come with a first-person shooter spin-off based on C&C, but it got a lukewarm reception, thereby forcing EA to cancel the sequel. We will be keeping tabs on the new EA first person shooter story, so keep watching this space for more updates.
