When all is said and done in a debate over the best titles in the fighting genre, there are only a few that would be able to contend for the position that is ”˜Numero Uno’. Reported to be a definitive summation of the fourth installment in its series, Super Street Fighter IV rightly falls within those few titles that enthusiasts will probably never be jaded of. Now according to andriasang, Famitsu has revealed that the game’s 3DS iteration will feature a local multiplayer mode as well as an entirely internet-based combat in full autostereoscopic 3D over Wi-Fi connection.

Capcom has assured a lag-free experience for the ”˜Internet Versus’ mode that will enable players to engage in a ”˜quick match’, a ”˜custom match, and a ”˜friend match’ modes. ‘Quick match’ will pair opponents immediately whereas ‘custom match’ will allow searching for rivals based on pre-set conditions. ”˜Friend match’ is slated to let gamers select adversaries from their friend list which consists of players that they have befriended while exchanging friend codes. It has not been mentioned yet whether these friend codes or friend list will be game-specific or universal throughout the 3DS system.
On a different account by G4tv, Super Street Fighter IV 3D will also have a Channel Live option where players can watch ongoing matches by other people. Additionally, the game will feature all the 35 playable characters from the console version of Super Street Fighter IV with three costume choices for each of them. Super Street Fighter IV 3D also includes a local multiplayer ”˜Versus’ mode. Users can apparently choose from player vs player, player vs cpu, cpu vs cpu and download play options.
‘Download play’ will enable them to contend in versus matches on two different 3DS devices with only one copy of the game. Capcom disclosed earlier at Nintendo Week that the download play support will let players transmit the game to other people’s Nintendo 3DS units and that the game will continue to work even if the host player leaves the match.
The game has already been retailing for Arcade, PS3 as well as Xbox 360 consoles and will be launched for Nintendo 3DS alongside the handheld device’s official release.
