This month saw Xbox 360 players jumping for joy, for now they could store loads of games and entertainment content than ever before. No need to get those special Elite bundles in order to avail of the extended hard drive space. Microsoft has proffered a 250GB hard drive especially for the Xbox 360 console. With this inclusion, you can easily download all the latest demos, full game titles and Xbox Live Arcade games. Priced at $129.99, you can also take complete advantage of over 13,000 items of gaming content and more than 25,000 TV episodes, music videos and movies which can all be snugly stored in the device.

If that wasn’t enough, the eventful month also saw documentation revealing that the Xbox 360 console would soon feature USB Mass Storage Device Support. It seems that with a 2010 Xbox 360 system update, you can save and load game data from USB devices. This allows you to even download directly onto the storage solution Games on Demand, Xbox Live Arcade games, and various DLC, Title Updates as well as Xbox Live Indie games. The USB storage connectivity will however hit the scene by spring this year. So watch out for this one.

Moving away from the Xbox 360 console, we make our way to a new Nintendo system namely the Nintendo DSi XL. Yes, the DSi is all grown up and offers you ‘the bigger picture’. This particular handheld system sports two 4.2 inch screens which are noted to be 93% larger than those spied in the DS Lite version. The complete extent of the latest gaming device could be fully fathomed by indulging in gameplay of three pre-installed titles like Brain Age Express: Math and Arts & Letters as well as Photo Clock. Simultaneously, two portable games also made its appearance along with the system titled as America’s Test Kitchen: Let’s Get Cooking and WarioWare: D.I.Y. The XL version of the Nintendo console sports pretty much the same features as the original DSi system such as two cameras as well as sound and photo manipulation tools.

Sony has finally christened the product by naming the motion controller, ‘PlayStation Move‘. This device along with the PlayStation Move sub-controller and PlayStation Eye camera is slated for an autumn release. Another great offering to look forward to. Speaking about the PS3 system, players owning one would have indeed been rejoicing as they got to traverse the ancient mythological terrain with Kratos himself. The month bore witness to the unleashing of the final iteration into the acclaimed series dubbed as God of War III. Kratos is seen conquering dark and dangerous monstrosities with his double-chained blades as well as new weapons and magic.

Another noteworthy game that made it into the Hottest Gaming News this month is Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The game is known for its employment of amazing destructible environments, great multiplayer experience and intense FPS modern warfare. To heighten the realism felt in the title, the PC version of the sequel is 3D ready thanks to the inclusion of DirectX 11 and ability to support multiple displays.
