Two Million Gamers Download Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Demo

In early September, Need for Speed World proudly flashed its one million registered users. Now, the next iteration in the series, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, has also made it to the hall of fame. Well, the demo for the upcoming title which was released last month has recorded over two million downloads.

Flagged off on October 26, 2010 and concluded on November 9, 2010, the demo is said to have been inundated with the rush of trendy cars. Criterion Games has revealed that more than two million players participated in the chase as either cops or racers across the Seacrest County.

Yielding optimum out of the newly integrated in-game social network dubbed Autolog, gamers posted over 700,000 messages on the Speed Wall while five million recommendations were exchanged between friends. Besides, players covered over 54 million miles whereas approximately 20 million cop busts were executed.

With such an overwhelming response for the demo, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is now gearing up to race into stores across the UK for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The Limited Edition of the title is now available for pre-order through participating retailers.
