Need for Speed World coming this July

In March this year we reported about the beta of Need for Speed World, EA Sports’ MMO action racing game. Now Electronic Arts has announced that Need for Speed World will go live this July. The game throws gamers into a huge, socially-connected NFS world with an all-new power-up system as well as RPG-styled progression.

The game will be available beginning on July 20, 2010 as a free client download and this will give gamers a taste of the action. They will have access to all races, pursuits and career progression up to level 10. Those looking for something more can purchase the Need for Speed World Starter Pack. This will include a credit for 14.99 GBP worth of SpeedBoost, a bundle assortment of power-ups, full access up to level 50, and an exclusive limited edition vehicle.

Gamers who pre-order Need for Speed World will get a week’s head start to the game on July 13, 2010, plus increased XP gain for the duration of the headstart event. They will also get guaranteed access to all upcoming Need for Speed World beta events. These players will also have the ability to reserve their driver names before the game goes live and have VIP status permanently displayed in their driver profile.

Need for Speed World is in development at EA Black Box studio and is scheduled to go live on July 20, 2010. It will feature intense online battles and police pursuits across 150 miles of open world. The Need for Speed World Starter Pack will be available for a maximum standard retail price of 14.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 1,020).
