We had earlier reported that Need for Speed Nitro would make its debut onto the Wii by this November. The maker of the game EA is now teaming up with three lifestyle brands, tokidoki, Upper Playground and i am 8-bit. They have come together to bring gamers exclusive in-game car designs and great artwork for this installment of NFS for the Wii.
Each of the above mentioned brands have designed and created its own custom skins to suit many different vehicles featured in the game. These include Subaru Impreza WRX, Dodge Challenger, Volkswagen Type 2, Lamborghini Gallardo and Dodge Charger R/T. Players are also offered more than 140 stylistic brushes which they can use to spice up their vehicles by painting and customizing them. The game oozes of personality and style which is a rare element in any other racing title.
Tokidoki is one of the well-known brands for accessories, skateboard decks, toys and other products. The brand is a Japanese name which means ‘sometimes’. The company is famous for its vibrant and energetic artistic style and was established by Simone Legno along with his esteemed partners. Together they launched a personal website and later became an internationally recognized brand.

With Need for Speed Nitro, we wanted to give players a variety of ways to customize their vehicles, introducing vivid and fresh urban art styles that have never been seen in racing games before,” shared Gil Rimmer, Art Director, EA Montreal.
Upper Playground is a brand based in San Francisco. It celebrates the graffiti culture by featuring its unique styles onto different types of street wear. These include hats, hoodies, T-shirts, wall art and housewares. Hollywood trendsetters as well as musical tastemakers have dubbed the Upper Playground Punk rock art style as one of the greatest brands to hit the fashion scene.
i am 8-bit accumulates more than 100 talented artists who showcase their classic video game characters with different types of media. These include sculpture, paintings, plush and interactive pieces. All these art forms are displayed at an annual exhibition that takes place every year since 2005 in Los Angeles, California.
Need for Speed Nitro has recently received various accolades for being the best racing game to feature on the Wii and Nintendo DS. The game is expected to start shipping on November 17, 2009.
