Two years ago, it had emerged that Ubisoft was going to acquire the driver IP from Atari. And then a few days ago, it had emerged that Ubisoft was apparently working on a new Driver game. Now the gaming giant has sent word that the original PlayStation classic Driver will come to the PSN next week.
An excerpt from the statement released by Ubisoft, which was put up on its official website reads, “Driver puts you in the driving shoes of Tanner, an undercover cop tasked with infiltrating an illegal syndicate through his impressive driving skills in a variety of cities across the globe.”
Driver for the PlayStation Network has been developed by Ubisoft Reflections. The racing game will be available on the online service on Thursday, August 14, 2008. It will come with a price tag of €4.99 (approx. Rs. 315). It will be nice to play the game on the PS3.
