Electronic Arts Announces EA Sports Active 2.0

EA Sports Active is the fitness game from EA for the Wii released last year. Now EA Sports has announced that the next game in the series, EA Sports Active 2.0, is in development. EA Sports Active 2.0 is a working title as it stands, and the game will not only release on the Wii, but also on the PS3, iPhone and iPod Touch.

The game promises to deliver true fitness results using an innovative wireless control system. It features leg and arm straps with motion sensors. The wireless control system will give uses total freedom of motion. The game will monitor heart rate using heart rate detection technology for optimum performance.

EA Sports Active 2.0 will also have an online hub for players to track and share their workout data, to host a thriving online global community. Users will be able to share their fitness regimes, interact and send messages to each other. They will even be able to download new workouts and exercises to their PS3 systems to keep their routines fresh.

EA Sports Active 2.0 is in development with EA Canada and is expected to be out the fall for the PS3, Wii, iPhone and iPod Touch.
