N-Gage to get Casual Games from I-play

A few months ago, at the Casual Connect Conference in Amsterdam, David Gosen, who is the CEO of I-play, had said that mobiles and not consoles are the future of gaming. Now I-play has announced that they will be delivering a line-up of casual games to the N-Gage platform.

The games for the N-Gage by I-play will have focus on casual, ‘one-thumb’ games for the mass market. The first two games will be World Rally Championship, the official license of the FIA WRC, and Super Mah Jong, an epic tale based on the ancient spiritual game Mah Jong, from the makers of Jewel Quest.

David Gosen, CEO, I-play said, “We are very thrilled to be cooperating with Nokia. The awareness that the launch later this fall alone will bring to the consumer and the mobile industry will help propel mobile gaming to the front and centre of entertainment consumed on the mobile.”

Gregg Sauter is the director of third party publishing at Nokia. He says, “I-play brings a diverse games portfolio to N-Gage, and we are eager to have them on board. The N-Gage toolset provides the opportunity to deliver new features and richer experiences to consumers through I-play’s strong selection of content. We look forward to this cooperation.”

World Rally Championship and Super Mah Jong will be available in 2008 for the N-Gage platform. Usually games from I-play offer an easy to play, difficult to master ‘dip in and dip out’ playability and N-Gage games by I-play will have focus on the fun part.
