Here’s the teaser trailer for Somerville sci-fi action adventure game

Animator Chris Olsen and Dino Patti, the guy behind Limbo and 2016’s Inside have announced a new game dubbed Somerville. The two have co-founded a studio named Jumpship and are currently hiring people for the job. But it’s not as raw as one would expect at this stage – a teaser trailer of the title has been rolled out (scroll down to watch).

Somerville has been in the works for over a year. The developers have been periodically sharing the progress they’ve made on their Tumblr page, and we must say it looks exciting. The setting is some sort of post-apocalyptic world with laser beam-spewing spaceships and drones looming threateningly over the world’s remaining population.

In some animated GIFs shared by Jumpship, you can see the protagonist sneaking all over the place as he tries to complete whatever task has been set to him and stay alive at the same time. There are scenes involving fights with what we assume are aliens of the reptilian race. Even the spaceships and drones don’t appear like the regular kind.

According to the developers, Somerville is a sci-fi action adventure game that follows key characters after a global catastrophe strikes Earth. There’s no telling when the title will actually land in the market given the stage at which it is at present. Also, there’s no information on the platform for which it will be made available.

But given Olsen’s and Patti’s portfolio of work so far, it should be awesome. Let’s hope it comes out within the year.
