Talk in town was that the release date of The Walking Dead Season 2 has been set for the fall of 2014, but the air around this agonizing rumor has been cleared by Telltale Games which declared that new episodes of the game will be coming out during the fall of this year itself. Having ended the first season on an extremely high note in November last year, the developer is now faced with paying heed to immense anticipation from fans all around the globe.

For these aficionados, holding up till fall for Season 2 of The Walking Dead is a big wait in itself, though they all seem glad that the 2014 speculation has turned out to be untrue. Actually, this latter information was provided to a gaming website recently by the CEO of Telltale Games. But a counter statement was issued by the studio recently via IGN, confirming that 2013 will indeed be the year in which we will get to indulge in some more of the point and click adventuring and hard decision-making that we love about the series.
”˜We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for the series!’ read the statement. A recent report had indicated that we might even get to see some more content prior to the launch of the next season. The game’s writer, Gary Whitta had mentioned these plans in an interview, but no official details about it have come to the fore as yet. Speculations are rife that this will be some sort of an ”˜interquel’ episode that will link the end of the first season to the start of the new one.
First launched in April last year, this episodic series has received immense acclaim from players and critics alike. A total of five episodes formed part of the first season, and they had all been deployed as downloadables on platforms that include the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac as well as iOS. In December last year, a retail version comprising all these episodes on discs was brought in by the developer as well.
Fans waiting for the release of The Walking Dead Season 2 will have to cool their heels till the fall of this year, however, we expect news about the extra content to come out soon.
