Space Quest II Remake Available Now for Free

Space Quest II, which was originally released way back in 1987, has been remade and launched as a free game by Infamous Adventures. According to a post on the developer’s official website, its team has apparently worked on the title for 5 over years by creating it gradually in their spare time.

Space Quest II 1

This game was originally crafted by Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe, while it was published by Sierra On-Line. It revolves around a luckless janitor named Roger Wilco. His life is rather trouble free, as he has been transferred to the Xenon Orbital Station 4 and promoted to the position of head (and only) janitor. But he soon gets abducted by Sludge Vohaul, only to find out that the evil Vohaul is planning to eradicate all sentient life from Xenon. Roger is now tasked with putting an end to this plan.

“Remade in a classic retro ‘VGA’ style, like Sierra’s later point and click adventures from the early 1990’s, Space Quest II Remake provides hand-drawn backgrounds, hand animated characters, a full voice pack featuring over 4,000 recorded lines and a whole lot of extras and fun. A labor of love and devotion to the original series, the team at Infamous Adventures is proud to be able to release this to the fans, both young and old,” read a post on the website.

Available as a PC download, this game requires a minimum of 300Mhz Pentium processor as well as 64MB of RAM. DirectX 7 and 600MB of free space are some of its other requirements. Along with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, this game is also said to work with Windows 2000.
