Minesweeper is the freeware game that comes with a copy of Winodws, in which players must attempt to clear a minefield in the shortest possible time. Why are we speaking about Minesweeper? Well now, apparently video game industry veteran Charles Cecil is working on an adventure game based on Minesweeper.
G4TV met with OneBigGame charity co-founder Martin de Ronde, who reportedly conveyed to the website that Minesweeper is currently in development with Revolution Studios by adventure mastermind Charles Cecil. Cecil has previously worked on adventure classics Beneath A Steely Sky and Broken Sword.
“He’s [Cecil] come up with a back story for as to why the mines are there, he’s come up with characters,” Martin de Ronde said to the website. “It’s turning out to be a really, really cool game in terms of mechanics and also in terms of the setting and the universe…”
We can’t wait to see what the veteran has planned and how the game actually turns out.
