Bolt Video Games Announced by Disney Interactive Studios

Bolt Movie One of the eagerly awaited animated films of the year is Bolt. If you were expecting a video game based on the movie, then you are right! Now Disney Interactive Studios has sent word that video games based on the Bolt movie for consoles and PC will be released later this year.

Craig Relyea, Senior VP of Global Marketing, Disney Interactive Studios says, “Bolt uses the film as a springboard, expanding upon the action and dynamic story elements, to provide a fun, challenging experience for gamers. With Bolt, Avalanche Software looks to further its reputation as a premier developer of compelling animated games for a broad audience.”

The Bolt video games will see gamers assume the roles of the TV star dog, Bolt, and his owner Penny. Playing as Bolt, gamers can use his superpowers, including laser vision and his superbark to send out a sonic blast to demolish adversaries while playing as Penny, gamers can make use of stealth, hacking skills and a wheelbar that has been inspired by her scooter seen in the Bolt movie to outmaneuver enemies.

The Bolt video game is developed by Disney’s Interactive Studios’ family games development studio, Avalanche Software. It will release on the PS2, PS3, Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms in November 2008. The DS version of the Bolt video game is being developed by Altron. It will feature competitive and co-op multiplayer and mini games. It will also have DGamer.
