Mirror’s Edge Shipping Date Revealed by DICE

Earlier this week, it had emerged that the PC version of Mirror’s Edge could be released in early 2009. Now Electronic Arts’ DICE have sent word that the console version of their first-person action adventure game, Mirror’s Edge, would be shipping in the month of November this year.

Mirror's Edge November

Owen O’Brien is the senior producer of DICE. He says, “Mirror’s Edge is bringing something new to the action-adventure genre this holiday by putting the player in the shoes of the hero, seeing what she sees, feeling what she feels. We wanted to make a completely new experience, with a different type of heroine and a world that not only looks fresh and new but has unique gameplay.”

What’s more, they will be putting the demo versions of Mirror’s Edge on the PlayStation Store as well as the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Mirror’s Edge demo has the prologue of the game including the tutorial and a segment of the single-player story mode. Also, from September 26, 2008, gamers who pre-order Mirror’s Edge at selected retailers stand to get an exclusive code which will unlock the Time Trial mode in the demo.

Mirror’s Edge is expected to ship for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 on November 7, 2008. EA DICE has not yet given an exact launch date for Mirror’s Edge PC, all they have stated is, it will ship later in the winter.
