A few days ago, we had reported that Gameloft had bagged the rights to develop a mobile game based on the third Mummy movie. Now Sierra Entertainment has sent word that a The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor game is currently under development. It is being created as a result of a deal with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor will be a third-person action-adventure game and will see gamers take the role of Rick O’Connell and his son, Alex. The game is set in various exotic locations. It will have a fast and fluid combat system and an arsenal of weaponry. The game lets players switch seamlessly between gunplay and hand-to-hand melee attacks. Tomb of the Dragon Emperor will also have combat, puzzle-solving and hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is being developed for the PS2 and the Wii by Eurocom Studios. A Nintendo DS version of the game will be developed by A2M. The action-adventure game will be available from retailers in the United Kingdom on 8th August, 2008.
