It seems that a lot of new N-Gage games are coming out. Just today, we had Nokia announcing Creebies. Now Nokia Games Publishing has announced Dirk Spanner and the Fallen Idol for the N-Gage, a story-driven detective game that has an atmospheric background from Hollywood’s classic Film Noir world.
Dirk Spanner and the Fallen Idol are set in the chic, yet squalid fictional city of New Haven. The game has a comic book ambiance featuring funny stories of conflicts, romance and trickery with abundance of movie stars, rip-offs, double-crosses, wigs and moustaches. Gamers play as Dirk, who is the lead private eye as they are sent into mysterious adventures where they fight many femme fatales and gangsters.
Dr Mark Ollila, Director of Technology & Strategy and Head of Games Publishing, Nokia says, “Dirk Spanner and the Fallen Idol will re-introduce the long forgotten detective game genre for mobile devices. With the combination of dramatic visuals and absorbing storylines, players cannot help but be spellbound by this game.”
Dirk Spanner and the Fallen Idol are scheduled to release in the first half of 2008. The game has an exceptional one-button, camera-based control that offers gamers an instinctive way of exploring the city of New Haven. It also includes a jazzy soundtrack.
