It’s been five whole years since the last version of Grand Theft Auto was launched and speculators are hopeful about GTA 6 coming out the year after. We already know that Rockstar Games is putting all its 2018 efforts into Red Dead Redemption 2 which is being rolled out eight years after the original was released.
It’d be foolish to expect the next installment of GTA to come out this year. The franchise still earns Rockstar tons of revenue and regular software updates continue to pour in. It’s the NYC-based publisher’s biggest (and arguably best) offering till date; so all its focus will need to be on the game when it’s out.

Speaking to Gamingbolt, games industry analyst Michael Pachter, opined that GTA 6 could arrive as late as 2022 considering the eight-year gap between the launch of Red Dead Redemption and its successor. A very optimistic fan can apparently expect an announcement in 2020 and a release in 2021.
GTA 6 location leaked:
This brings us to the next report about GTA 6 ”“ its location will allegedly remain in the US. SegmentNext cites word from a ”˜trusted source’ inside Rockstar itself as the basis for the rumor. This might put an end to stories about the forthcoming game being set in London or Russia or Australia. But we’d still love to find out which city in the US will be its backdrop.
It’s widely known that the development of GTA 6 has been going on full throttle since 2016. But the lack of announcements by Rockstar is enough to hint heavily at an unlikely 2018 launch for the game.
