GTA V has sold a massive 52 million units till date

The resounding success of GTA V seems to be in no intention of receding anytime soon, even as the game has just been revealed to have sold nearly 52 million units to retailers across all formats. This news was disclosed by Take-Two Interactive during its latest earnings report for the quarter that ended on the 31st of March this year.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was first released by the publisher back in November 2013. This action-adventure offering from Rockstar Games had managed to sell off 45 million units until February this year. And the fact that the number has touched 52 million already means that 7 million copies of it were traded off just in the last three-and-a-half months.

A lot of high-profile games can’t even dream of trading off 7 million copies in their lifetimes. GTA V’s extremely enjoyable gameplay, its unbelievably versatile open world, its finesse, its online play and many more factors have contributed to its success.

The interesting part about the 52 million sales number is that it doesn’t count the digital sales of the title. These have expectedly seen a huge spike in the recent weeks after the launch of the PC version.

As you know, GTA V can be played on multiple platforms right now, and it’d really be foolish for you to not play it once in your lifetime.
