Far Cry 4 indeed set in the Himalayas, release date out

Far Cry 4 has officially been announced by Ubisoft, and although a full reveal for the open world title is to take place at this year’s E3, a few of its details have been let out by its publisher prematurely. As had been rumored, the game will grab a Himalayan setting instead of going for the tropical locales we’ve been seeing the past three main titles from the series. It will moreover be released for next-gen as well as previous-gen consoles.

To be exact, Far Cry 4 will be made available for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Eager fans will need to cool their heels until November 18 to get their hands on the title. As can be seen in the space above, a poster for the title which appears to show its main antagonist has been released but E3 is the event where a trailer can be expected to debut.

Kyrat is the name of the fictional location that will be portrayed in Far Cry 4. It has been described by Ubisoft as a ‘breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas.’ This place has also been revealed to be reeling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king, who we’re guessing could be the man from the image right above.

Other details about Far Cry 4 remain undisclosed, but Ubisoft’s E3 conference on the afternoon of June 9 will make things a lot clearer than they are right now.
