Sleeping Dogs HD listed for PS4, Xbox One and PC

It is understandable that Square Enix would want to release one of its big hits Sleeping Dogs for the PS4 and the Xbox One, but an HD version for PC makes little sense. This speculation has come to the fore thanks to the fact that a retailer in the UK recently listed all three versions of the game on its website, before taking them off when the news started making rounds on the Internet. We can expect Square Enix to make an official announcement about these editions soon.

Sleeping Dogs HD

Sleeping Dogs was released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC back in August 2012. Although it grabbed pretty slick visuals, we can understand that its HD remake would grant players a whole new graphical update over the original owing to the added capacity of the PS4 and the Xbox One. Moreover, it’s also a good chance for Square Enix to bundle all its DLC packs and sell them along with the game to add value to the purchase. But since the current PC version can still be cranked up to higher definition graphics than its console counterparts, this is one variant of the title that we’re confused about.

The news has stemmed from a listing of all three versions that was spotted on ShopTo by Gamrreview. Although it has now been taken down, the damage as they say is done. The game was available for pre-order through the site, and its release date was mentioned to be 21 November 2014.

Sleeping Dogs is an open world action-adventure title which takes place in Hong Kong. Its HD version for the PS4 and the Xbox One should prove to be a nice opportunity for owners of the said consoles to play it if they haven’t yet.
