Dishonored The Knife of Dunwall DLC now live

It has taken time for Dishonored to get its first story-driven DLC, but it has come nonetheless in the form of The Knife of Dunwall which is downloadable now through Steam and Xbox Live, and should go live on PSN later today. Its price has been locked down at 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 540) or 800 Microsoft Points for the respective platforms. This new piece of content aims at providing gamers with an alternative point of view on the events that transpired within the actual story.

Players are asked to fill the shoes of Daud, the antagonist who is responsible for the death of the Empress. Fresh locations as well as old ones will form part of the whole experience. These include the new Rothwild Slaughterhouse as well as the decaying Flooded District which we had witnessed in the actual game. And that’s not all. The game’s main appeal, its supernatural abilities, have also been updated in the DLC.

Daud has his own skills that are granted to him by the mark of the Outsider he bears on his body. ‘Summon Assassin’ enables him to send for Whalers during combat. On the other hand, ‘Void Gaze’ helps him track down hidden Runes and Bone Charms. And apart from this, modified versions of old powers as well as fresh weapons will also be found within this new content. The DLC even has a second part titled The Brigmore Witches which will be released later on, and will act as a conclusion to Daud’s story.

Although it is the first campaign based add-on for the title, it is certainly not its first big overall DLC. Fans will remember that the Dunwall City Trials content which had jumped out from the developer’s stable in December last year. Available for download now, this add-on is actually a collection of ten challenge maps. It asks gamers to defeat waves of enemies, while also completing time-trial challenges and performing drop assassinations.

As mentioned above, the Dishonored The Knife of Dunwall DLC is the first act of the whole narrative the developer wants to convey. We’ll have more on its second part when proper details are out.
