Watch Dogs delayed into 2014, what happens to its PS4 bundles?

Ubisoft’s long awaited open world offering, Watch Dogs has hit a bump in its development it seems, for the company has announced a delay in its release. The game was slated to hit current-gen consoles on November 19 for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC, while its PS4 and Xbox One versions were scheduled to come out along with the consoles. Another game to receive a delay in its launch is The Crew, Ubisoft’s open world racer which actually didn’t have a concrete release date of its own.

The question which now remains is what will happen to the Watch Dogs PS4 bundles that gamers have pre-ordered already. Two big retailers have revealed their plans on this matter. While Amazon has said that it will deliver the PS4 consoles on time, and will disclose further plans later, GameStop has stated to Polygon that gamers will either have to wait for their copies of Watch Dogs till 2014 or they can swap the bundle for any other such package. In any case, their PS4 consoles will be delivered to them on time.

Watch Dogs is now being targeted by Ubisoft for a spring 2014 launch, whereas The Crew is slated to hit next-gen platforms and PC in Q3 of 2014. Not compromising on quality has been revealed to be the reason behind the delays of both these titles.

The no show of Watch Dogs during the beginning of the next console generation is sure to prove as a huge blow to Ubisoft’s plans, since it was one of the most anticipated games of this year.
