Rayman Legends jumping on to PS4 and Xbox One next year

Ubisoft Montpellier’s much impressive platformer, Rayman Legends will be seen treading new ground, for its publisher has just announced that the game is all set to make its way onto the PS4 and the Xbox One in February next year. This sequel to 2011’s hit offering Rayman Origins has not been given a proper release date for its next-gen versions however.

Rayman Legends

The journey of Rayman Legends has been quite a strange one to say the least. It was initially leaked by means of a promotional video which showcased its NFC compatibility features for the Wii U that never made it into the final version. An official announcement later, Rayman Legends was a Wii U-exclusive slated to be a launch title for Nintendo’s console. This soon changed, even as the console was launched sans the game, with only a demo of it having been released later as compensation of sorts.

The game was now set to be launched in February 2013, but that was delayed further in order to strip it off its Wii U exclusivity, and dole out PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions alongside. It was finally in September that the game made it out in the open for the said platforms and the PS Vita. And now, with the advent of a new generation of gaming upon us, Ubisoft has chosen to release it for the PS4 and Xbox One as well. This announcement was made by the company during an earnings call, as observed by Eurogamer.

We hope at least these next-gen versions of Rayman Legends don’t suffer from any delays, especially since it’s such an enjoyable offering to indulge in.
