Indie studio Boss Baddie along with its development partner VooFoo Studios and its publishing partner Ripstone will be bringing Big Sky Infinity to the PS3 and PS Vita later this year. This newest iteration of the Big Sky series will act as a successor to the much loved twin-stick shooter PC game called Really Big Sky.

Described by its makers to be a procedurally generated, super fast, twin-stick shooter title, this game will be seen embracing new modes and enemies as well as touch controls for the Vita. Hence, it cannot be called completely new game as such. In reality, it will be an enhanced PS3 and PS Vita version of the original title. It will be developed VooFoo Studios in conjunction with Boss Baddie, while its publishing duties will be performed by Ripstone.
Mark Williams, Technology Director at VooFoo, shared, “It is hugely exciting to be able to continue our collaboration with Ripstone, and join forces with the incredibly creative guys at Boss Baddie to bring the Big Sky series to the PlayStation Network. With the passion, enthusiasm and expertise of the three parties combined, we are well placed to deliver a world class game.”

Really Big Sky was first released for PC in February this year, and is available currently at a discounted rate on Steam. It features twelve game modes and seventeen different enemy types. Along with single-player content, it also offers support for local co-op multiplayer. Moreover, it even comprises online leaderboards.
Big Sky Infinity is yet to receive a definite release date, but the game has been confirmed to release later this year for the PS3 and PS Vita. Gamers must note that the video and images are of the game’s earlier PC version.
