For those who were left highly unsatisfied after the last time we got to pick apart Sleeping Dogs, the official US Sony PlayStation blog was seen offering a closer look at the upcoming title. This game from Square Enix was recently previewed at a media event pulled together in Hong Kong.
Extending some additional details on the offering, the Sony blog post leads fans through the mission dubbed Mrs. Chu’s Revenge. Taking it from the top, gamers will step into the shoes of undercover cop, Wei, as he sneaks his way into the Hong Kong underworld. The particular chapter we’re talking about, opens up in a Chinese restaurant.
The owner, Mrs. Chu, is distraught over the murder of a close relative and it’s up to Wei to hunt down the killer. So it commences with an attempt to find Johnny Rat-Face and his mobile number is the only available clue. The chase begins with the Hong Kong Police Department backing the case and a 270 DX bike which should get players racing around the city.
Triangulating the cell’s signals with the help of a mobile PC will finally lead to Johnny’s hangout and that’s where the mayhem is expected to start. Defeating a horde of henchmen won’t exactly spell victory and it should only get tougher as the protagonist is faced with some inevitable firepower. And if gamers’ manage to emerge out of that mess, it’s back to chasing the murderer without forgetting that the goal is to bring him in alive and kicking.
While Sleeping Dogs may already be pre-ordered for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, it won’t be out until the latter half of 2012.
