Tomb Raider Delayed Till 2013

Following in the footsteps of BioShock Infinite, the Tomb Raider reboot too has embraced 2013 as its release window, instead of fall 2012. Developer Crystal Dynamics has made it known that this delay in the title’s launch comes due to its commitment to delivering the ‘highest quality game.’

In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013,” says Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics, on the forum.

This new reboot of the extremely popular series is said to chronicle the ‘intense and gritty’ origin story of the iconic Lara Croft. The game will also explore Lara’s journey from being a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor. Upon graduating from the University, she embarks on her first job, but a terrible accident forces her to rely only on her raw instincts in order to survive on an unknown island.

Tomb Raider will be outed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in the first quarter of 2013. It can be pre-ordered now at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,215) for consoles and 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,680) for PC.
