A supposed Edition 1 of an unannounced Rockstar Games Collection has been leaked by a few retailers, one among which has slapped it with a November 13, 2012 release date. Purported covers of this compilation have also surfaced, revealing its contents that are nothing less than some of the highest rated games of recent times. These include Red Dead Redemption, Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition, L.A. Noire and GTA Episodes from Liberty City.
The bundle is first said to have appeared on the pages of Buy.com and CDUniverse.com, with both listings being devoid of any cover photos or information on its contents. NeoGAF user, thekonamicode however has managed to somehow pull out these covers, revealing the games that will form part of the collection. While Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire will be available as individual games, Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition contains the full game as well as its South Central map expansion, premium upgrade and vehicle packs.
What’s worth pondering over is why the GTA IV main game has been left out, with only its add-ons, The Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and the Damned being included. Besides, since the collection has been tagged with an ”˜Edition 1’ suffix, speculations are already flurrying all over as to what the contents of Edition 2 will be. No information upon the same has come to the fore as yet. Max Payne 3, Undead Nightmare and Bully are being considered as prime contenders though. And of course, Rockstar Games is still silent about the whole matter.
If the listing of one of the above mentioned retailers is to be believed, then the Rockstar Games Collection Edition 1 will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 13.
Update: Rockstar has officially confirmed the existence of this compilation. It will be released in North America on November 6, and not on the date we’ve mentioned above. The Rockstar Games Collection Edition 1 will be priced at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,165).
