Hitman: Absolution Gets Dated, Pre-order Incentives Kick in Standalone Game

Hitman: Sniper Challenge is the name of the standalone title which will be doled out to all those who pre-order their copies of Hitman: Absolution prior to its November 20 release date. This promotion will go live on May 15, 2012, and will be available for all three platforms that the game is scheduled to launch on.

Hitman: Sniper Challenge 1

Developed by IO Interactive A/S, the pre-order bonus is claimed to be an objective sniper experience which is in no way related to the actual game. Players will be seen undertaking an assassination assignment, wherein they must take out Richard Strong Jr., CEO of Stallion Armaments, and his staff of bodyguards from a balcony overlooking a rooftop gathering. Multipliers, hidden secrets and unlockable equipment upgrades are all set to form part of this challenge.

“Agent 47 is the best in the business so it seemed appropriate to create the best pre-order reward possible for our fans. Hitman: Sniper Challenge is a way of thanking customers and giving them a taste of Agent 47’s skills from the moment they pre-order the game,” commented Jon Brooke, Brand Director of the Hitman franchise.

Moreover, during the challenge, gamers will be able to use the high-powered Kazo TRG sniper rifle as they try to perform deadly kills in order to land on the leaderboards. More details regarding this will be revealed by Square Enix in the future.

Hitman: Absolution will be outed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 20, but Hitman: Sniper Challenge will be dished out from May 15 on PSN and Xbox Live to all those who pre-order the title. The PC version however, will start being distributed through Steam from August 1.
