Spec Ops: The Line Demo Coming to XBL, PSN May 15

Gamers had better be digging for gold, an ‘Xbox Live Gold membership’ that is, if they desire to get an early peek of the Spec Ops: The Line demo title. Coming through 2K Games, this one is expected to make a full-fledged release in the US on June 29, 2012, for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles as well as PC.

Spec Ops The Line Demo

Developed by Yager, the highly anticipated third-person military shooter title takes place in Dubai, where the city has been cut off from the rest of the world due to a series of cataclysmic sandstorms. The single-player narrative is said to put gamers through the first 2 chapters of the upcoming release. Players will journey as Captain Martin Walker in search for Colonel John Konrad and his missing battalion, The Damned 33rd.

In addition to destroying the city a bit more via firefight engagements, gamers will even have to make their way through sandstorms with help from a host of weaponry and explosives. It doesn’t end there; the title allows them to bury enemies using sand and much more. Along with the single-player campaign, the developer has thrown a class-based multiplayer mode into the demo release. It apparently proffers visually enriched environments in which gamers will have to battle it out against foes and sandstorms as they rage by.

Spec Ops The Line 1

The Spec Ops: The Line demo arrives as a free to play game and it’s available for download through the PSN and XBL. Currently only Xbox Live Gold members can acquire a copy of the title. It’s expected to be available for all console owners from May 15 onwards.
