Max Payne 3 Soundtrack Launching on May 23

Rockstar Games’ latest title seems to be in the news almost every day, this time around owing to the Max Payne 3 soundtrack which has been announced to be ready for a May 23 release. The album has been composed and recorded by Los Angeles based band Health, and it even includes the song ‘Tears’ which is set to be outed as a single in iTunes on May 15, the same day as the game’s North American launch.

The aforementioned band of musicians is said to create music that features a blend of rock, powerful drums and electronic soundscapes. The group has apparently taken inspiration from the locales of Brazil, Max’s native town, New York as well as the themes of the original Max Payne games. The Max Payne 3 soundtrack compilation will also feature a new and exclusive track from Sao-Paulo based Brazilian hip-hop artist, Emicida. Parts of Tears can be heard in the game’s new TV spot.

“By using a band instead of a traditional composer, we’ve created a soundtrack that sounds completely unique. Health have created hundreds of hours of amazing music for the game’s score, and distilled it into a devastatingly moody and atmospheric soundtrack album,” revealed Ivan Pavlovich, Rockstar soundtrack supervisor.

MP 3 will be launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC later this month complete with a single-player campaign as well as a vast multiplayer mode. It was only yesterday that we reported about the game’s extensive DLC plans and its Rockstar Pass. It will first hit consoles on May 15, after which, it will be released for PC on May 29, 2012. Gamers planning to buy a PC copy must know that it requires a total of 35GB of storage on the systems.

Those looking forward to purchasing the Max Payne 3 soundtrack will be able to do so on May 23.
