Konami Announces Three Silent Hill Games

Konami’s survival horror video game series Silent Hill is coming back to haunt gaming enthusiasts. At this year’s E3, the company introduced Silent Hill: Downpour alongside The Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill: Book of Memories.

Silent Hill Downpour

Silent Hill: Downpour will be powered by the Unreal 3 technology for bringing in-game characters and creatures to life. In the game, the protagonist, namely Murphy Pendleton is an inmate who meets with an accident while on a prison transfer. Trapped in the Silent Hill, the character explores new and unseen areas of this sleeping town. It will be the first game in the series to come embedded with the all-new 3D functionality for transforming the misty town into a reality.

The second title in the series, The Silent Hill HD Collection, will re-introduce the Silent Hill 2 and 3 with improved high-definition graphics for the PS3. All-new voice talent and PlayStation Network Trophies will be the exclusive features of the game. The launch is said to be a celebration for the success of the past Silent Hill series.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories is being designed for the PS Vita. It is touted to be the first multi-player title amongst other games in the franchise. Allowing gamers to play along friends, the title will be linked with past and present events in the series with all new scenarios and soundtracks.

Silent Hill: Downpour will be available in the fourth quarter of 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 with PS3 The Silent Hill HD Collection. Availability date for Silent Hill: Book of Memories has not been revealed yet.
