Halo: Reach is turning into one of the year’s most anticipated titles and earlier we reported that the multiplayer beta had unfolded. Now we have word from Microsoft that Halo: Reach has got an official worldwide release date. The game is set for a September 14, 2010 release. It is a prequel to the Halo franchise and has been developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 by Bungie.

“Halo: Reach is the culmination of a decade of Halo, a franchise that has become a global entertainment and pop-culture touchstone,” Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios at Microsoft Corp explained. “Just as Halo: Combat Evolved catalysed the success of the original Xbox to define a decade of entertainment, Halo: Reach will push the boundaries for what’s possible in video games and help make 2010 the biggest year in Xbox history.”
Halo: Reach can now be pre-ordered in standard, limited and legendary editions at participating retailer over the globe. The standard edition comes for a suggested retail price of 49.99 GBP (approx.
